Hospitality: Margarida’s Values

Hotel Management – Hoteliers – Hotel Administration

Daisy’s Values

Hoteliers are not perfect, (I am a hotelier). At some point, several moments of our hotel life, trajectory we will be prone to failures, be they small, medium or large. Everything is flaw, error, especially when working hard and always or almost always between numerous meetings, obligations, responsibilities and work between 15 and 18 hours a day from Sunday to Sunday. However, that is why all of us hoteliers need to take some care in relation to some behaviors, precisely to avoid these possible failures and especially how we want to be seen by the market. Over many years of work, I’ve learned that being punctual is a matter of respect. Some small examples that happen almost daily in some companies:

  1. If you schedule a meeting or are invited to a meeting, keep up with your schedule: Believe me, it happens every day;
  2. Be careful what you say, how you talk and who you talk to. Your posture and behavior is analyzed by the other 24 hours a day. Believe me, it happens every day;
  3. Open your head, your mind and stop complaining about life, your hotel, your colleagues, the company, the boss to people close to you. That doesn’t add to anything, quite the contrary. People who listen to you will use it at some point to harm you. Believe me, it happens every day;
  4. If you have a deadline to deliver your report, your spreadsheet, your analyses, your reviews, comply. Do not give room to be taxed that you are irresponsible for not handing over your responsibilities on the stipulated date, on time. Believe me, it happens every day;
  5. If you make a commitment to someone and say you will do and then do not, do not return and when questioned, say, did not give time, forgot, I’m sorry. You are not worthy to take any other responsibility. Believe me, it happens every day;
  6. If you consider yourself a differentiated professional, you say that it really makes it happen. Make it happen. Don’t say it, don’t promise what you don’t understand. You will go through incompetent and eventually fail to keep your promises. Believe me, this happens every day;
  7. The obvious in our hospitality segment needs to be spoken every day and this applies to any position and function. There are many professionals who only articulate in the professional environment to look like they are welcome and recognized in Trade. One hour the bill comes and you will have to demonstrate your ability and competence. Believe me, this happens every day;
  8. We are responsible for the image that we pass on to people and believe me, the world of hospitality can seem like a great rejection machine, always ready to exclude you from everything and especially make you give up your career. Believe me, it happens every day.
  9. Meet people, study harder and be a provider of dignity. Don’t surrender, don’t give up and stop having the syndrome of coitadism, self-pity. That’ll just do you even more harm. Believe me, this happens every day;
  10. The real manager in the hotel career, does not build anything for him. I think we are not and we are and we are and as long as we are, our obligation is to make life easier for the people who are with us right now. Make the people around you grow up. That’s the secret of success.

Arrogance in hospitality is someone’s greatest ignorance, so I really like to bring daisy’s values. Honesty, perseverance, resilience, good education, have a dignified life and never forget your origins – GRATITUDE. Have a lot of dedication and work hard. With this I’m sure your life will improve, people will trust you more and apply your knowledge to help others.

I know a fantastic role model for you to grow in life. People

That’s right, meet people.

Hugs
