Nilson Bernal launches book Secrets of Success in Portugal

On April 20, I had the honor of participating, at the Ritz Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal, in the launch of the 5th volume of the book Secrets of Success, a publication whose organizers are Cristiano Lagôas and Andreia Roma. In this volume, I participate in one of the chapters addressing my experiences in the hotel area.

This publication contains the largest biographical record of leaders ever made. This book is authored by 105 executives, winning, in the first edition, the Brazilian record of book with the largest number of authors of The High Management.

The work aims to biograph the history of several executives, through their experiences, learning and challenges of corporate life, as well as their vision of life. By leaving an intellectual legacy to society, it allows the reader to reflect and be inspired by the values, concepts and behaviors of corporate leadership.

This is a reference publication for those who are at the beginning of their career, and for leaders to find solutions in shared experiences, a true compendium of management, which presents cases of the day-to-day leadership.

Experiences of more than 20 years in the hotel area

In this edition, I tell about the many lessons learned over more than 20 years of career in the hotel area. I present the challenges and the price to pay for success. The humility needed to achieve small victories that, combined, become our history.

I also stress the importance of being an example every day. That means more to do than to say. A beautiful discourse is not sustained when we do not observe this in practice. That’s why the team I work with on a day-to-day basis is driven and motivated to always be better. This gives me great satisfaction: to note that in everyday life I am surrounded by leaders of their areas, with the same sparkle in my eyes as me. These are some accounts that I share in the new volume of the book “Secrets of Success”.

Tenure as a member of the European Academy of High Management

At the time, I was also sworn in as a member of the European Academy of High Management by its president, Cristiano Lagôas. This select group of members of the academy brings as values: Integrity, Solidarity, Engagement, Quality, Innovation, Relationship, based on contributing to a better and fair society.
